Flights in and out of Gatwick Airport have been suspended for another day, after an ant was spotted by security staff.
The ant walked up and down the main landing strip, before disappearing, then re-emerging just a few centimetres further on.
The army have been called in, and prospective passengers sent to local hotels, and told to expect delays of up to three years.
‘We’ve advised passengers to buy a small boat if they had planned to fly overseas,’ said Airport Security Chief, Peter Thape.
‘Let’s hope it’s just one ant, otherwise this could go on for quite a while,’ added Thape.
