Babies, who for so long have avoided paying a licence fee for watching telly, are to be targeted next by the BBC.
BBC Controller, Peter Thape has slammed toddlers and pre-schoolers for consuming large parts of the BBC network without making any contribution.
Thape, who has been criticised for his decision to go after small children, said that those babies who are in receipt of Child Credit will not be asked to buy a licence.
‘Very small children can often sit or play in front of the TV for ages; who do you think is paying for that?’ asked Thape.
‘Babies have loads of different outfits, often waste food; they’re not short of few bob,’ added Thape.
