Channel swimmer turned away twice by France ‘cause of Brexit

A woman who swam from England to France has been refused entry, and asked to swim back to England twice.

Swimming to France is significantly cheaper than taking a ferry or The Eurostar, but European Union officials are clamping down on such practices.

French Immigration officer, Pierre Thape told the swimmer to turn back around twice, even though she was really tired.

‘Before Brexit, we would have let her land in the EU,’ said Thape.

‘She would have been allowed to swim back with some wine and cheap ciggies…but not anymore,’ added Thape.
