Councils run out of grit as winter enters 2nd day

Councils have admitted being thrown by the severe, lengthy winter that has descended upon the country.

The Council’s Head of Grit, Peter Thape said that the winter had come as a surprise this year, by falling in between autumn and the spring.

Thape though has refuted the criticism directed at him, claiming that he took adequate control of the stocking policy for the grit.

‘I went to B & Q myself, and bought bags and bags of the shit,’ said Thape.

‘Couldn’t get a cigarette paper between the wheel arches and me tyres,’ added Thape.
