A Rotherham dentist has been reported to the British Dental Council for performing a standard 10 minute check-up on a patient without selling him anything.
Dentist Peter Thape, from Rotherham, asked the unnamed patient if he’d had any difficulties in the last six months, before numerically running through the teeth with his dental assistant. He then performed a simple scrape and polish and bid the patient a farewell. Mr Thape will meet with the Dental Council next week, where he is expected to be suspended indefinitely.
‘I don’t know what happened, I didn’t even try to sell him the toothpaste,’ admitted a shaken Thape.
‘I think I lost concentration. I could have gone for a crown, or at least some bridge work,’ added Thape.
