Manchester to burn down without the normal rain

Several weeks without rainfall has left Manchester and the surrounding areas almost certain to be destroyed by wildfires.

The usual one meter per day of rain has not fallen for weeks prompting most Mancunians to evacuate the tinder-box city.

Local Manchester man, Peter Thape has packed away his cagoule as the region attempts to cope with scorching temperatures.

‘It’s so hot. We’re sat around covered in flies, like a Band Aid video,’ said Thape.

‘We’re praying for rain – here, in Manchester! A sentence I never thought I’d say,’ added Thape.
