Nation mourns the loss of one of its greatest minds

The nation said goodbye today to theoretical physicist, comedian and presenter, Jim Bowen.

Bowen, who kept his vast understanding of science really well hidden, was able to ask questions, read an autocue, and share witty banter with moustachioed people from the eighties.

Peter Thape was a contestant on Bullseye in 1986, and clearly remembers Bowen talking about the stars, black holes, and other fancy universe stuff.

‘He never missed a chance to say his catchphrase, super smashing cosmos,’ said Thape.

‘Both Jim, and his son, Tony Green, were at my wedding,’ added Thape.
