Because there’s just not enough to do already, parents have had to find the extra time to cobble together some type of costume for World Book Day.
Local mum, Murial Hislop lost the whole evening and another dress creating a character’s outfit from a book that her daughter has never read.
Hislop has only just recovered from making her daughter a World War Two costume, and received a letter yesterday explaining the rules for the Easter Bonnet competition.
‘It would be different if me and my daughter sat there crocheting together, but I do it, and she just plays on the Xbox,’ said Hislop.
‘Then she says that she has to take £2 in, the cheeky bastard,’ added Hislop.
