Steven Spielberg will go up against Asda’s Ridley Scott in next year’s retail Christmas adverts.
Spielberg has been given £100 million to provide a three minute ad that will sink the threat from Woody Allen’s Lidl commercial, which will be released early in November 2018.
Quentin Tarantino has been officially signed up by The Range, but next year’s big Xmas advert will almost certainly come from Francis Ford Coppola’s Pets at Home tear jerker, which will be 2 hours 40 minutes long.
‘It was important to capture the essence of Christmas,’ said Francis Ford Coppola.
‘Was it not Jesus who stressed the importance of the third fiscal quarter?’ added Francis Ford Coppola.
