Long school holidays are being blamed for disrupting the Teacher’s ability to take more regularly scheduled industrial action.

Immediate strike action in September could also be threatened by the need to take several inset and training days at the end of the six/seven week summer holiday.

Local teacher, Peter Thape is considering popping back into school in late August to arrange the strike action for…just before, or after, the half term holiday.

‘A couple of colleagues and myself were just doing 6 weeks trekking in South America when we heard about the new pay rise,’ said Thape.

‘What with inflation, and some other blah de blah de blah de blah….imminent strike action,’ added Thape.
