United Airlines have accepted that their advice to place a goldfish, which subsequently died, in an overhead locker was incorrect.
The cabin crew told passenger, Peter Thape to take his goldfish out of its bag of water, and place it neatly on its side in the overhead storage locker.
Thape questioned the airline staff at the time, but they insisted that the airline’s policy was to stow pets overhead.
‘Little Billy tried to hold his breath for as long as possible, but he just couldn’t make it,’ said Thape.
‘They said they’d drag me off the plane, like they normally do with passengers, if I complained.’ added Thape.
