A queue behind Matt Hancock, who was buying 46,000 stamps yesterday, stretched right around the block of the Westminster branch of The Post Office.
Local man, Peter Thape saw the government Minister in front of him in the queue, and had assumed he’d just come in to pay his council tax, or his court fines like everyone else.
Thape told Cutting News that he’d just popped into the post office himself, for two minutes, to buy some staples.
‘Next thing I know he’s asking for 46,000 first class stamps, and he’s got a load of testing kits in his jacket,’ said Thape.
‘He had to put each one on the little scales; took ages,’ added Thape.
