The government has insisted that cafetiere manufacturers stop using the left-over Christmas decorative bauble mix for the production of their plungy coffee makers.
In order to reinforce the new industry guidelines, the government has insisted that the manufacture of the woefully thin glass coffee pots be moved from January to July. Government spokesman, Peter Thape has also suggested that the industry’s special exemption licence should be withdrawn, which currently allows the makers to display a sticker that says not suitable for dishwasher or kitchen sink washing.
‘We once heard that a family had used the same cafetiere every day for over six months, but this is most unlikely,’ said Thape.
‘Pretending to be sophisticated, shouldn’t come at such a heavy price,’ added Thape.
