People who take loads of serviettes, but then simply throw them away, are to be asked to place surplus napkins back into the dispenser in the same order that they were taken out.

The new Napkin Act is also insisting that excess serviettes are folded neatly along original lines, and that perpetrators use a travel iron to ensure a consistent quality.

Fast food restaurants have established checkpoints to ensure that incoming customers are carrying a travel iron. Peter Thape (27) is a keen napkin abuser, and he’s developed a trick that should help with the order of serviettes.

‘I’m going to use a quality felt pen to number each serviette as it comes out,’ said Thape.

‘I’ll do each one hundred serviettes that I take in a different colour ink,’ added Thape.
