Contactless payment now saving up to 3 seconds a day

People everywhere are building up a bank of spare seconds by hovering their debit card over the card reader in preference to using the ancient method of chip and pin.

Some extreme shoppers are reporting savings of up to 30 seconds per week, whilst those who purchase just two coffees a day are still ending a working week with nearly 20 seconds in the bank.

Shopper, Murial Hislop (25) has amassed 48 seconds in only one month, and she hopes to use that time by going shopping. Hislop hopes to save even more time by making further purchases with her phone.

‘I’ll be saving another two and a half seconds a month when I pay by using my phone,’ said Hislop.

‘Although it does take me a few seconds to get into the app,’ added Hislop.
