‘Finding out your teacher’s first name,’ voted greatest discovery ever

Finding out that your first school teacher even had a first name, has been voted the greatest discovery ever in a new Channel Four poll.

The Channel Four programme, which airs on Tuesday at 8 pm, counts down a list of the top 100 best discoveries of all time.

Finding out your teacher’s name finished ahead of ‘Electricity,’ with ‘Penicillin’ in third place. Scientist, Peter Thape has recently discovered a way of sending humans back through time, but heartily agreed with the number one spot.

‘Found out that Miss Fanshaw was called Phillipa when I was five; probably never really recovered,’ admits Thape.

‘She could have been called Debbie, Hilary or Steve – none of it made any sense. Your teacher just shouldn’t have a first name,’ added Thape.
