Peter Thape from Stafford has set a new world record for Hitting a spider that he’d already killed on the first strike.
Thape struck the spider 18 times after he’d already squashed it, refusing to accept that he’d killed it well enough with his first strike.
The hench spider, who had been ‘working out’ in a nearby wall cavity, ran out onto the carpet in front of the panicked Thape. Thape attributed the new record to training hard, and a childhood incident of unsuccessfully trying to kill a huge spider on a deep carpet.
‘I have developed a technique which would equally kill a much bigger animal,’ said a proud Thape.
‘You’ve got to be sure! It could easily live on, and run up my arm, into my mouth,’ added Thape.
