A patient has broken with surgery protocol by telling the doctor what’s actually wrong with him, instead of mumbling it as he walks out of the door at the end of the consultation.
Patient, Peter Thape just walked in, sat down and told the Doctor that he’d been feeling extremely low, and filled with despair, and wondered if medication might be needed.
Thape, who failed to dress up his depression as a throat infection, a bad back, or an occasionally appearing rash, has now been reported to the Medical Council for wasting the Doctor’s time.
‘The Doctor was pretty angry with me, and explained that all his fun comes from working out what a patient’s real problem is,’ said Thape.
‘I know I’ve let myself, and all other patients down. I’m happy to pay the fine,’ added Thape.
