Men everywhere are arranging gifts, pamper days and special breakfasts for their wives, on the day that has effectively become another birthday.
Peter Thape has spent the morning encouraging his children to make wife, Laura’s breakfast, whilst they hastily wrap this year’s wall-hanging, mum-appreciation quotes.
Peter has also booked their favourite restaurant for lunch, followed by an afternoon at a glitzy spa, where Laura will be given the opportunity to have an expensive, super, shiny face.
‘Mother’s Day used to actually involve my mum, and I have sent her a lovely card,’ said Peter.
‘We were going to see her this afternoon, but Laura doesn’t really want her special day spoiled,’ added Peter.
