Privately educated schoolchild not learning a musical instrument

A pupil of the highly respected Parkwell Independent Grammar School has been asked to leave, after it was discovered that he wasn’t taking music lessons.

Although 14 year old Bobby Thape arrived at school each Friday burdened by an outsized cello case, a keen eyed parent managed to spot the logistical faux pas.

Thape already had after school commitments of Chess, German, Pioneering, Symbology, and Junior Bridge on Fridays. The quick-thinking parent told prefects, who immediately exposed Thape’s empty cello case in the courtyard.

‘Nobody gets into the lower sixth without grade 7 cello,’ said the school’s Head Teacher.

‘Off you go to the local comp, with the other scum,’ he added.
