England fans going through the ‘Who knows, maybe this could be our year?’ phase

Fans of the national team have moved effortlessly from the ‘We’ve got no chance,’ to ‘Well, stranger things have happened,’ phase as usual, just one week before the tournament.

This phenomenon, which occurs every four years, is known by psychologists as ‘The Goldfish Syndrome,’ in which one repeatedly makes the same mistake.

England fan, Peter Thape has happily bought into this year’s theory that all the players are young, are great mates, and play Fortnite together.

‘Our big advantage this year is that we’ve got no star player,’ said Thape.

‘All our players being squad players, who don’t normally get a game for their club, will be what wins it for us,’ added Thape.
