England players return to their Premier League reserve teams as heroes

Many of the England players will return to their more familiar role of substitute and squad players after the heady experience of representing their nation at the World Cup.

John Stones and others will be hoping to notch up a few more starting appearances at their club teams to help better prepare them for International football.

More game time may help them compete favourably with vastly more experienced footballing nations like Croatia, who have existed now for almost 27 years.

‘I’m hoping my team sign more players we’ve never even heard of for £60 million,’ said one of the England players.

‘Sometimes I get to wear a bib and warm up; that’s when I wave to the fans,’ he added.
