Raheem Sterling, who was subjected to racism in the weekend’s football, has pointed out that football has moved on from the dark days of throwing bananas at players.
Sterling has emphasised that with the money sloshing around in football these days, a higher calibre of tropical fruit should be tossed from the terracing.
Sterling added that even stores at the discount end of the market offer mangos, persimmon, and Kiwi, all at reasonable prices.
‘Everything is better at football now, and racism should reflect that,’ said Sterling.
‘They had persimmon on the Super Six at Aldi last week; who saw that coming 10 years ago,’ added Sterling.
