Pharmacist struck off for preparing prescription in less than a minute

A pharmacist from Nottingham has been removed from the pharmaceutical register following reports that a customer received his prescription in less than one minute.

Eagle-eyed staff at Thape’s Pharmacy, Nottingham challenged owner, Peter Thape (40) moments after a customer received a prescription for a blue asthma inhaler.

Thape, took the inhaler from the shelf, noted it on the computer, stuck on the label and gave it to the customer – it took less than a minute. Thape was frogmarched out of the shop by two of his own staff, and immediately reported.

‘I’ve let my industry down. I completely ignored the standard 15 minute wait rule,’ admitted Thape.

‘Years of training, and I forgot the very first rule of pharmacy,’ added Thape.
